About the Artists

Sarah Marguier is a multi-disciplinary artist, working as a photographer, designer and artistic director on performing and visual art. She lives between Portland, Oregon and Paris, France and is moved to work with her friend-collaborator, in what turned to be a wild ride of a project. She is leading by and from embodied approaches to making. Her work centers around the expressions of the moving body, the ever-evolving stories that emerge from it and the questions of what remains.

Sara Bergman is a clothing designer living and working in Portland, Oregon. While most days are spent with sewing machines, patterns, and fabric, she is excited to explore a new medium with her friend and collaborator. As a former student and researcher in the field of Anthropology, she loves dreaming of the cultures of our ancient past, and imagining what our cultures will become in the distant future.

A selection of this work was shown at the Light Conversation Projection Series

at Oregon Contemporary in April 2023.

Working in Blue Basin

We would like to express our respect to the First Peoples of this region.

We offer thanks to the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, the Thomas Congdon Paleontology Center, and the illuminating work of geologist Ellen Morris Bishop.
